The preparation of co-polyoctene, octadecene and divinylbezene and ethyl styrene-encapsulated titanium dioxide packing for HPLC and the characterization of the two new stationary phases using elemental analysis and diffuse reflection infrared spectrum were carried out. Good separations of polynuclear aromatic compounds, alkylbenzenes, basic aromatic compounds, halobenzenes as well as lovastatin and simvastatin were achieved. The high stability of C18- ES - DVB - TiO2 and C8 - ES - DVB -TiO2 to organic mobile phase and basic aqueous solution were also demonstrated.
